Quality Materials & Manufacturing

Does Scott Manufacturing & Engineering offer products to withstand in extreme environments ?

Scott Engineering manufactures switchgear cabinets to handle all types of atmospheric environments from coastal salt fog installations to, desert and mountain installations to high temperature/high humidity installations. The switchgear cabinet we build for you is designed to meet your atmospheric environmental requirements. In coastal environments where salt fog is an issue, we supply two corrosion resistant solutions. Stainless steel cabinets are abrasive blasted with a non-ferrous abrasive and then coated with an edge retentive, high cross-link density epoxy tank lining designed for marine environments. Our final coat is an ultra-violet resistant, graffiti resistant, weatherable polysiloxane-epoxy which along with the primer minimizes the transmission of electrolytes through the coating film. We also offer a carbon steel system for coastal environments which is commonly used in offshore environments. Carbon steel cabinets are abrasive blasted, primed with an inorganic zinc primer and then finish coated with our ultra-violet resistant, graffiti resistant, weatherable polysiloxane-epoxy finish. For inland environments where extreme temperature, humidity and road salts are an issue we offer a carbon steel cabinet which is abrasive blasted and primed with our edge retentive, high cross-link density epoxy tank lining. The primer is then finish coated with our ultra-violet resistant, graffiti resistant, weatherable polysiloxane-epoxy.

What paint system does Scott Engineering offer?

Scott Engineering provides a performance coating system with a proven track record of corrosion protection in offshore, marine, coastal and inland environments. Our finish coat is not only a performance coating with excellent ultra-violet resistance, but also provides an easily cleanable surface of dirt, oils and grease which is graffiti resistant. Scott Engineering's Anti-Graffiti coated cabinets are built to withstand tough atmospheric environments, but also built to resist graffiti, allowing for easy clean-up with denatured alcohol, acetone or commercially available graffiti cleaners.

How can we replace aging medium voltage equipment while maintaining the same or smaller footprint? Newer construction has limited our access or made maintenance difficult.

We can provide a solution that utilizes the same footprint through design innovations; please give our friendly sales team a call.
